BBC Schools News Reports

The CLC has enabled secondary school groups of pupils to take part in the BBC Schools News Reports on a wide variety of news topics and subject areas for the third year running.

The CLC makes use of a wide variety of software (Garage Band, Audacity, Adobe Audition); recording equipment (microphones, MP3 /4 Players, Dictaphones, Zoom H3/4)including an industry standard Clyde Broadcasting Radio Desk; and the online platform Radiowaves.

Photography and filming

The CLC makes use of a wide variety of technology such as Digital Still Cameras, HD Camcorders, Video HD Professional, Screen Projection, Grey Screen using Light Ring, Software used is Picasa, Picnik, Adobe Photoshop CS4, Windows Movie Maker, Final Cut (MAC), Adobe Premiere Pro CS4, Pinnacle Studio, Photostory, Camtasia Studio, 3D film making for our 3D Stereoscopic Cinema and Stop Animation Pro.

Examples of information presentation software are Photostory, PowerPoint 2007, Prezi, Picasa, Picnik, Kar2ouche, Kahootz Animation, Flash, Comic Life, MediaStage, Pinnacle Studio, Mediator and RadioWaves online platform.

Dreamweaver CS4, Mediator 8, iWeb, Photoshop and Flash are examples of software used to support web authoring.

Video Games Creation

The CLC runs a course in partnership with Onteca for KS4-Re-engaged Pupils using state of the art dual system Apple MACs and Maya, Torque Game Engine, Mission Maker, Flash and Photoshop.

Online platforms

  • KS2 creation of media objects in support of a variety of subject areas.

The CLC supports pupil use of platforms such as Radiowaves, Uniservity VLE, Google Email and Documents.
