Partnership with secondary schools
The purpose of the CLC is to support school development of technology as a learning tool across all subject areas.
The CLC seeks to do this by agreeing a forward technology development plan with partner secondary schools an academic year in advance. Agreement involves working with the senior person in charge of curriculum development and/or the person in charge of technology uptake across all subjects.
A strong partnership is one that is based on the school’s strategic planning and development of technology to assist learning in all areas of learning. The outcome of meetings with key people would be a co-ordinated action plan for the academic year with dates written into the school diary.
The CLC can offer most support where there is a partnership with the person(s) responsible for developing the use of technology for learning across all subjects. Such a partnership can bring benefits to the school by having the CLC written into its development plan, for example in the areas of:
- Equipment and software research and development
- Pilot workshops and projects involving learners
- Partnership teaching in new areas of technology
- Development of technology with targeted groups
- Research and piloting of new ideas across subject areas
- Support for G&T learners taking on the mantle of experts
- Specialist courses and specialist support for aspects of courses
- ICT Mark/ Preparation for the ICT Mark
- Special Needs support
